Will Black D.M.D.

A Charleston native, Dr Will Black graduated from the University of the South in Sewanee, Tennessee with a Bachelor of Science in Environmental Science with a concentration in Forestry and Geology. After college, he returned to Charleston and worked as a patient care technician at the MUSC Children’s Hospital where he met his wife, a then nursing student.

After a few years on the hospital floor, he went to graduate school at MUSC and earned a Master of Science in the Medical Sciences. He then earned his DMD at MUSC College of Dental Medicine, where he graduated with honors in Clinical Dentistry and Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery. After dental school, he continued his training as an oral and maxillofacial surgery resident intern at Louisiana State University in New Orleans.

In addition to restorative dentistry, Dr. Black’s clinical interests are IV and oral sedation, wisdom teeth removal, dental extractions, dental implant restoration, and pre-prosthetic dentoalveolar surgery. Dr Black is thrilled to serve the community he grew up in. He believes that oral health is the gateway to personal health, and treats each patient he meets as he would a family member. In his free time, he loves hanging out with his wife and two sons, playing drums and banjo, woodworking, and being outdoors.
